Dolphins vs Jets home game Summary 10/12/09

Grading the Dolphins

QB Henne played a brilliant near perfect game. His 4th quarter was Marino type performance, he was that good. Considering he was starting his second game it was amazing. He finished 20 of 26 for 241 yards, 2 TD, no INT and a passer rating of over 130. Great Great Game.game. A+

RB Wow, Ronnie and Ricky are playing lights out. Ronnie should be voted to the probowl right now adn Ricky should be as well. Awsome game. Ricky had 68 rushing yards on 11 carries (6.2 average) and 70 receiving yards. Some of his third down runs were amazing including jumping over would be defenders. Ronnie was also perfect in his role. He rushed 21 times for 74 yards and 2 TDs. He aslo threw a 21 yard completion of the wildcard that was crucial to making the Jets back off the wildcat. It was only fitting that he won the game with 6 seconds on the clock scoring of a wildcat play. He even looked like a QB hurrying to set his players when time was running out on the game clock. Brilliant performances by both of them. A++

WR Welcome Ted Ginn. He fianlly showed his speed in catching a 53 yard TD form Henne on a perfect play. He will benefit from Henne's arm after all. Camarillo had two HUGE receptions in the game winning drive on third downs. B

OL When you rush for 150 yards and it's down 100 from last week... Henne had time, wasn't sacked, the blocking was excellent. The line play was worth the now famous 155 million dollar salaries. Great work all around. If Henne will continue to have time to throw he will be just fine. A

LB They made the effort, the results were so and so. The Jets ran wild on the defense. No sacks by Porter, Taylor or Wake... C

DL The D-Line let the Jets run way too much. Ferguson played well but Merling and Langford have seen better days. They gave up 138 yards on the groud (including 38 on fake punts on special teams). They only had one sack of the rookie QB (Starks) C-

Secondary They got burnt a few times by the Jets, not to mention the stupid penalties - Pass interference on Allen, Unsportsman like by Wilson and again a 49 yard penalty on Will Allen. Bell didn't do much better. Smith was again the best player in the secondary which is odd to say the least considering he is starting as a rookie. D

Special teams How low can you get ? Two fake punts goinf for first downs (Wake had a shot at the play on the first one and Porter on the second). Cobbs could not get anything going in the return game and couldn't get back to the 20 ! Ginn was better. D-

Coaching In one word - WOW. The team threw twice off the wildcat, ran wild, were prepared, especiallt Henne. Gutsy call inserting White in the fourth quarter. A-
