QBRyan Tannehill had, by far, his worst game of the year. He wasn't as accurate as always and he threw 3 INTs and just did not play very well. He did not have time to throw as usual but held on to the ball too much as well. He finished 22 of 35 for 249 yards 1 T d (Clay again) and 3 INT. D
RB The run blocking was better in the first half but then the game just got away from them in the second half and they had to pass the ball more and become one dimensional.Miller ran 11 times for 62 yards and a TD. Daniel Thomas had only 5 yards on 4 carries. Tannehill ran for 48 yards on 4 carries including a 26 yard run. C+
WR Not a very good game for the WRs. Wallace dropped and under thrown deep ball that hit him in the hands (he did have to slow down for the ball...). Gibson and Clay led the way with 6 receptions each meaning most of the throws were short and to the middle of the field. Wallace and Hartline only had 3 catches each for 34 and 24 yards respectively. D+
OL Another game and another 4 sacks. Tannehill now has 18 sacks in 4 games, at this rate he will be sacked 72 times (the Dolphins all time record is in the 50s). The run blocking was better than usual and that's something. D+
LB Let's be honest, the defnse played poorly. All of them. Sproles had a field day. Brees threw for over 400 yards on 30 of 39. That's just ridicolous. Sproles finished the game with 7 receptions for 114 yards and Graham had 4 recptions for 100 yards. Each had 2 TDs. F
DL Cam Wake was missed. Soliai came back to the lineup and it showed as far as stopping the run but the Saints really had no reason to run the ball. Wehn you are completing 77% percent of your passes with more than 10 yards an attempt why run ? The pass rush was invisible. It shold be the strength of the team (2 first rounders and 3 probowlers on thew line) but it did not look this way. F
Secondary Patterson didn't play again and the Dolphins miss him. Brees finished with 413 yards, 4 TD and no INT. 3 different players had almost 100 yards (Sproles 114, Grham 100, Colston 96). The only thing they could do is at times tackle after the catch. Just an awful game. Thy should forget it and move on. F
Special teams The Dolphins special teams are a good unit. Fields had a rare off day but Caelb Strugis was a well spent draft kick. Thigpen usually dies the right thing with punts and kicks. B-
Coaching Some very very questionable calls. A run-wide on 3rd and inches insdie the Saints 10 ? To Daniel Thomas ? not going for it on some short 4th downs when the defense could not stop New Orleans. They looked bad overall that's all. But it's just one game. On to the Ravens. D-
