QBRyan Tannehill was solid all game. He had time to throw and made solid throws. He did miss on a few opportunities (Hartline should have had a score in the first hald if the pass was accurate). He finished the day 28 of 43 for 331 yards with 2 TDs and 1 INT. Even though he missed a few, a solid game. B
RB It helps when the passing game is clicking. They managed to have a decent game against a very strong front 7. Miller had 72 yards on 22 rushes and Gillisllee had his first carries of the year (6 for 21) and looked OK. C+
WR An excellent game for Wallace, Hartline and Clay. Clay (7 for 80) played very well in the first half and Wallace (7 for 82 and a TD) and Hartline (9 for 127 and a TD) added the big play needed in the second half. Both TDs came when WRs broke tackles and made an intermediate pass a big play TD. A-
OL McKinnie really stabilized the pass protection and they actually played very well. The Jets have a very good front 7 (and only that) but the O-line managed to protect Tannehill (1 sack - coverage sack). The run game blocking was OK considering NY is the best team in the NFL against the run. B
LB The Dolphins LBs bounced back with a few big plays. Wheeler recovered a fumble, Ellerbe had an INT and Misi had a sack and made a few nice tackles. He is not spectacular but is really solid. The team missed him when he was not 100%. B+
DL The D-line dominated the game. Olivier Vernon is easily the most improved player and is quietly having a very good year. He had 2.5 sacks and now leads the team with 10 sacks on the year and he still has 4 games to go. That's very good. If he continues like this the Dolphins will have no chance than move Jordan to OLB... A-
Secondary The Jets QBS are horrible. Just very very bad. They look like college QBs and not very good ones at that so it's hard to say if it was a very good performance or a really bad Jets team. When put on the spot they played well. The Jets tried to throw at Grimes twice and obviously it' s not a very good idea (one deflection and 1 INT...) A
Special teams Sturgis missed a 41 yard FG. It wasn't a bug deal now but it was a week ago. Thigpen had a nice 50 yard return. B
Coaching A very good game. I still wonder what were they thinking with the very low percentage pass at 4th and goal ffrom the one (when they ran on 1st down from the 7 and 2nd from the 4) but all in all a very good game. B+
