QBRyan Tannehill was decent in the first half and didn't play very well in the second hald. He had no time to throw and his WRs were not getting open. He threw 2 INTss (with 2 TDs) and lost a fumble that resulted in a New Engalnd TD. He finished the game with under 50% completion percentage and a QB rating of close to 60. He did not throw a good throw down field all day as his 4.6 yards per attempt shows. D+
RB Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas ran very well when given the opportunity to run the ball. Miller ran the ball 18 times for 89 yards and Thomas ran 9 times for 47 yards. The pass blocking wasn't very well as usual B+
WR A very bad game and they also lost Brandon Gibson to injury. Some of the sacks were sacks suffered when there was no one open down field. Wallace and Hartline were invisible. The only bright spot was Charles Clay, although he did drop a very makeable, albeit difficult, long ball. Clay saves this unit. D+
OL They gave up 0 sacks in the first half and... SIX sacks in the 4th quarter. It's a miracle that Tannehill is still playing. They started newly acquired LT Bryant McKinnie and actually depsite the six sacks looked better. It's easy to blame the tackles but the inside pass blocking fell apart just as many times against a bunch of backup DTs. D-
LB The defense did not lose this game for Miami. They did give up 27 points but those are the Patriots and this is Tom Brady on the other side. They gave up way to many big running plays in the second half. Misi and Ellerbe were invisible. C
DL Cam Wake is not OK. Jordan was invisible. The DTs played well, especially Odrick that was without a doubt the best player on theDolphins team. Vernon had the penalty that gave the game away but I thought it was a bad call. Ross is rich enough to say something about the call and pay the fine. The D-line did not play as well in the second half but had a huge first half and it should count for something. B-
Secondary Brady is not his old self. Patterson had a decent game but he missed a few snaps and Brady made the Dolphins pay when he completed the first TD on Carool when Patterson was out. He also had a penalty giving the Pats a first down. Grimes was silent and the safeties played well considering it was Brady and Gronkowski. C+
Special teams Sturgis missed a 46 yard FG, that is inexcusable. He also had another one blocked. Someone should tell Thigpen not to run back a kick that is 5 yards deep in the corner of the endzone. They did not play well and it's time they get a grade that reflects their play withput Fields. F (Fields not included)
Coaching I did not like the second half play calling at all. These are the Patriots. You are not beating them with 17 points and they played not to lose in the second half. They should have gone for first down in the 30-45 yard range because Sturgis is struggling. The dink and dunk passing game can take you this far and the pass blocking was just awful. D-
