QB Frerotte didn't play very well. His receivers did drop a few passes and he didn't have a lot of time to throw but still he missfired on a few throws. He completed only 20 of 43 for 177 yards with a TD and an INT. C-
RB Brown had only 35 yards on 12 carries. Someone has to tell him that he is not in College anymore and you can't dance behins the line in the pros. Frankly, Morris looked much better. On his current level of play there isn't a chance on earth that he keeps his job once Ricky returns. The trouble is he doesn't look like a second overall 19 million guarantee player. It's very early, that's true but it's just as early for Cadillac Williams whor already rushed for 270 yards and 2 TDs in his two games. I mean, dropping a shovel pass... D-
WR They drpped a few passes. Chambers didn't play well and Boston could have tried harder on that long pass from Frerotte. When the second leading WR - Chambers/Booker/Welker finishes with a grand total of 21 yards, you are in trouble. McMichael is the lone weapon on the offense (until Ricky comes back) and it showed on sunday also. He had 8 catxhes for 77 yards and a TD. C-
OL Sure, Ricky could have run for more yards with this blocking but they should block much better. Frerotte was under pressure all day. As for the running game, it could be summed up by 3 words - what running game ? D-
LB They didn't do as good a job as last week. The Jets ran whenever they wanted in the first half and on the scoring drive in the second. But they did play OK in most of the second half. B-
DL They didn't generate enough pressure on Pennington and Martin ran at-will through the middle. Even Traylor was pushed around. The first half was bad. They played better in the second but still they coudn't generate enough pressure on a mediocre QB. B-
Secondary Leaving a rookie on Coles on third and goal was a coaching mistake. Madison played OK most of th game, the rest gave the Jets WR way to much room especially to a QB that can't throw the ball more than 30 yards downfield. The penalties and medium range passes killed them. D+
Special teams Welker had a near lost fumble. Mare missed a 21 yarder due to a bad snap. Aside from one Welker punt return, they kllled themselves, and the penalties don't help either. There is no excuse for a 21 yard FG miss. F
Coaching I wasn't a very good game for the coaching staff. Leaving Daniels on COles on third and goal from the 7 ? They gave the Jets to much respect for a QB that can't pass more than 30 yards. The run stippoing had its problems and the Dolphins running game was not existent. Also if Morris plays better than Brown than play Morris. It doesn't matter how much Brown gets paid to play, the same will be true for Ricky, and Ricky is much much better than Brown or Morris. D+
