QB Jay had a very good day. He passed the ball well and he also ran for 35 yards and a very nice 9 yard TD. He threw a TD pass to TE Randy McMichael and didn't throw any INTs or bad passes. He finished 14 of 19 for 190 yards, while leading Miami to 3 long TD drives. A-
RB Ricky is back. Ricky ran all over the Jets. He evn coverted a 3rd and 16 gaining 18 yards on a draw play. He went in motion 6 times and went wide as a wide out a few times. He finished with 34 rushes for 125 yards and a TD and he added 4 catched for 37 yards. Konrad and Minor played well also. A-
WR Is this the year Chris Chambers breaks out ? We'll save judgement on that for a later date but he had another big day Sunday as he caught 4 balls for 91 yards. McMichael had 3 catched one of them an 8 yard TD. Thompson caught his first pass as a Dolphin. B
OL They played OK while protecting Fiedler. The run blocking was OK although Ricky made a lot of yards after contact. The penalties must stop, they were flaged again a few times Sunday. Rookie LT Wade Smith wasn't flagged and his name didn't come up which us a positive thing for a OL especially while facing DE John Abraham. B-
LB I though the Jets had way to easy of a time throwing the ball. They did stop the run. Seau played well and so did Zach. B-
DL Finally they got a sack. One sack against statue like Vinny isn't encouraging. Vinny had sometimes enough time to pitch a tent back there. This will not do against the Bills and Bledsoe. C-
Secondary They gave up another huge play to Santana Moss of 61 yards. This is now a routine. Vinny finished with 373 yards. Granted most of them were against prevent defense at the end but he was throwing to wide open WRs at the begining also. He is almost 40 years old and they shouldn't make Curtis Conway and Santana Moss look like the second comind of the Marks Brothers. Surtain had an INT on a very poorly thrown passs.D
Special teams Royals isn't very good, that's for sure. Rogers could have done better on the kick returns although the Jets' punts almost touched the sky and were unreturnable. C+
Coaching The Dolphins played better. I thought the play calling in the second half were to conservative. There is obviously something wrong in the zone defense. They won an important game but the real important game is next week. If they can win at home they will be 2-0 in the division and that's what will ultimatly count. B
