QB Fiedler played well. He didn't have to do much because the running game went so well and his WRs were hurt. All of his top 3 WRs missed the game or part of the game. A solid performance. Fiedler finished the season with an 80.3 rating, 20 TDs and 19 INTs. Fiedler is only the second Dolphin QB to pass for more than 3,000 yards in a season (3,290) - Marino did it 13 times... B
RB Welcome to the 2001 season Mr. Lamar Thomas. Thomas finally broke his big game in the last opportunity he had in the regular season. He rushed 30 times for 158 yards and a TD. His yard total is his best as a Dolphin in the regular season (his 209 yard performance last year was in the playoffs). The 158 yard output was the fifth highest in Dolphin regular season history. A
WR Gadsden was injured and didn't play. McKnight played hurt and Chambers went out in the middle of the game. The WRs that were left did their best but they didn't have to do much because of Smith's dominance. B-
OL Smith rushed for 158 yards. Enough said. The pass protection did break a few times but in general it was good. A solid performance in the season finale. A-
DL The Bills couldn't get their running game going. They finished with under 40 yards rushing. B+
LB Thomas didn't play. Hendricks started in the MLB spot and played very well/ Gaylon starting for the injured Rogers had a sack and an INT, both are career firsts. Greenwood has made strides this year and should be a pretty solid player next year. B+
Secondary Freeman had his first INT of his career. Marion was great returning his INT 100 yards for the TD. The return was the 2nd longest in franchise history (Louis Oliver holds the Dolphin record with a 103 yard return). It's Marion's second straight week with an INT return for a TD. A solid game by the secondary. B+
Special teams Turk was wahoo ! 5 punts inside the 20 (twice downed at the 6). The Bills returned the ball for -10 yards... Mare was his usual self, going 2 for 2 in FGs. Ogden had an 48 yard punt return. A
Coaching The Dolphins already knew by game time that the Patriots won the AFC east. They won the game and secured a first round home game (Miami was 7-1 at home in 2001). A solid performance for the Dolphins against a team that beat the Jets last week. B+
